Tibial fractures tibial plateau refers to fractures occur the following condylar which is common to the majority of young adults and children. It is caused by direct violence, such as heavy compression, combat and indirect violence as reverse, which high-altitude falling may results in.
Conservative treatment
1. No Shift: Small steel or cast immobilization for 6-8 weeks
2. Shift (transverse or short oblique fracture): After manual reduction, be fixed by small plates or plaster for 6-8 weeks.
3. unstable tibia and fibula double backbone: calcaneal traction 4-6 kg, six weeks later diverted to support or cast immobilization.
Surgical treatment
ORIF:
1. Indications: manual reduction failure of unstable fractures; severe comminuted fracture; open fractures with light pollution and short time.
2. Method: steel screws; external fixation; s Andhra internal fixation; fixation with interlocking intramedullary nail.
1. Promote veins, lymph, reduce or prevent swelling of the limbs.
2. The early exercise (1-2 weeks after surgery) in foot and interphalangeal joint activities.
3. 3-4 weeks after surgery., do knee and ankle joint movement.
4. 4 weeks after surgery ,crutches without weight-bearing exercise to walking cane gradual weight-bearing exercise
5. The diet should be light and easily digestible nutritious food, and avoid spicy fried food
6. Periodically review.
NOTE: tibiofibular fracture is premature to walk, or prone to fracture fragments delayed healing, or the occurrence of malunion.
